As the archetype of the table lamp, the Naska is one of the first examples of an articulated task light in Italian design. It was created at a time when function, ergonomics and technical innovation were being combined for the first time in the design of luminaires and was originally manufactured by Naska Loris, now part of FontanaArte, and is designed for maximum flexibility in use: A system of articulated arms and connectors allows the light source to be precisely aligned and adapted to different work requirements. A feature that makes it particularly suitable for work areas such as study rooms, desks and technical work, where the quality and direction of light become fundamental factors. From a formal point of view, it is characterized by an essential design language, free of superfluous elements, in which each component serves a precise function. The aesthetics derive directly from the mechanical construction, according to a principle typical of 1930s modernism, in which structure and function coincide in a strict balance, and the design versatility is also reflected in the modularity of the available brackets. Originally designed as a floor lamp, the luminaire retains its light body and adapts to various configurations: Table base, clamp for worktops or wall bracket. The design principle thus remains unchanged in the lighting module and only varies in the support system.
