Karin Carlander is a weaver and textile artist and she understands her craft in a way that you can feel as soon as you hold the Heddles blanket in your hands.
Carlander chose alpaca wool from the Andes for the Heddles. Fine, silky fibers woven into a blanket that feels like it looks - luxurious, soft, with a subtle ribbed pattern that gives the fabric depth. At the edges, a delicate fringe invites you to take a closer look and discover the creation process for yourself. Warp and weft, hand and material, idea and chance.
Carlander himself describes it this way: "This analog way of creating is a collaboration between my loom and the material. Even after so many years, the craft continues to surprise me."
