Malou Wall Mirror by Sika-Design

Malou is a mirror with an organic shape. The mirror’s wicker frame is handcrafted from Indonesian rattan. The combination of soft shapes, natural materials, and exceptional craftsmanship gives the mirror an elegant and decorative look.

This item is handcrafted from rattan, a climbing plant that grows like lianas on trees in the Indonesian rainforest. Rattan is often confused with bamboo, but unlike hollow bamboo, rattan is a solid material. This makes rattan products very durable and virtually indestructible.

When rattan is steamed for 10–15 minutes, it can be shaped by hand using old traditional techniques and just a few simple tools. There are 600 different varieties of rattan, and at Sika-Design, we use only the two highest-quality types, known as Tohiti and Manau.
