His ideas came to him at all times of the day and night, which is why Børge Mogensen recorded them on matchboxes, napkins or even half-crumpled envelopes. His chair 'Søborg' was absolutely groundbreaking in the design world in the 60s and 70s.
Børge Mogensen designed the chair as an organic dining chair made of moulded oak plywood. Its perfection and quality of craftsmanship show clear echoes of the American Shaker style. Thanks to its easy-to-process material, the 'Søborg' could be manufactured industrially with machines that were new at the time. The generous seat and backrest of this chair proved their worth and from then on were a common thread in Mogensen's designs.
The 'Søborg' is available in different versions. You can choose from four different types of wood for the frame, seat and back.
