Iconic Scarpa 121 chair from Karakter

Some chairs simply stand in the room. The 121 Scarpa is one of them - in the best possible way.
The story behind it is as beautiful as the piece itself. A sketch by Carlo Scarpa, the Venetian architect and designer - and his son Tobia, together with Afra Scarpa, breathed life into it in 1965. Three generations, one idea, one chair.
The result: a dining chair that does not feel obliged to any particular era. The robust wooden frame creates a stark contrast to the lightness of the seat and backrest - anatomically shaped from plywood, covered in fine European leather, attached to the crossbars with bolts. Precise, well thought-out, comfortable.
Classic interior? Fits. Modern loft? Fits just as well.
The 121 Scarpa was designed together with the 925 Scarpa Lounge Chair from 1966 - both share the same characteristic double trestle structure with the unmistakable rounded joints. Two icons, born of one spirit. Both now part of the Karakter Collection.
A chair with heritage. And a future.
