Above E27 pendant light from Louis Poulsen

The Above pendant light by Danish designer Mads Odgård is an unmistakable example of minimalist lighting design. The designer himself is a minimalist through and through and creates comprehensible products where function is just as important as form and quality. "I have created a luminaire that embodies my mantra: How much simplicity do you dare in design? I'd rather take something away than add something. And I always remind myself to keep everything as simple as possible," says Mads Odgård. The silhouette of the pendant luminaire is defined by a graphic triangle that emits a pleasant, downward-directed light. The opening at the top of the luminaire has an arched element, to which the name "Above" also refers. The opening allows a clear view of the cable and creates a discreet, subdued light that is emitted upwards.
