Like a praying mantis, the slender luminaire Aaro climbs along the wall. Particularly charming here is the handling of proportions: Thus, the round attachment to the wall and the counterweight is rather large, while the light head is comparatively small.
The starting point of 'Aaro' was a gesture. A movement. Designer Simon Schmitz wanted to create the most fluid movement possible, which immediately led him to the sphere. A sphere has so many fantastic properties. With a sphere as a joint, there are no limited directions, it has no left or right, no up or down. With the sphere as the defining element of this piece, everything else 'revolved' around it.
The end result is an object that seems to be moved by the wind. It revolves effortlessly around its centerpiece, like planets orbiting around each other.
In 'Aaro', the switch is found on the lamp itself. It is touch-sensitive and has four levels that allow you to provide the right light at any time.
