Hornbæk Portable Lamp by Gubi

Light that smells like the sea.

This lamp was originally designed for the CORI Hornbæk Hotel—a translation of the Danish north coast into a sculptural, portable light. Inspiration: sails billowing in the wind and lanterns guiding sailors to shore. Pleated canvas shades, a hand-glazed ceramic base, and a finely crafted handle in antique brass come together to create an object that brings atmosphere to any room.

The Poppy Yellow Edition takes this design beyond Hornbæk—while maintaining its connection to its maritime origins. The warm yellow is inspired by the golden light of long summer evenings by the sea and the poppies that bloom along the coast. A shade that carries the gentle warmth of the North with it—wherever you place the light.
