The Italian architect and designer believed in democratic, functional design. Furniture and objects that are intended for everyone, that adapt, that think for themselves. No frills, no empty aestheticism - but things that really make life better.
Colombo was way ahead of his time. He experimented with new materials and the latest technologies long before others had even thought of them. The result: futuristic "Machines for Living" - objects and furniture that anticipated a completely new way of living. Many of them are icons today.
A designer who did not design for today. But for the day after tomorrow.
