Moby 1 table lamp from Karakter

Some lamps simply light up. Moby does something different.
The Moby table lamp thrives on contrasts. Futuristic and warm at the same time. Sculptural and inviting at the same time. An organic shape with a recess in which the light source sits as if hidden - until you switch it on. Then a soft, diffuse glow unfolds, bringing the sweeping curves to life and immediately attracting the eye.
There is a special story behind Moby: Birgitte Due Madsen and Jonas Trampedach actually run separate studios in Copenhagen. But their shared passion for plaster - this delicate, silky material that is otherwise more at home in art and prototyping - brought them together. The result was not only convincing at first glance, but also to the jury of the Danish Arts and Crafts Movement: in 2016, Moby was awarded the prestigious Silver Hetsch Medal - the highest recognition of the Danish Art and Crafts Movement.
Originally cast in plaster, Moby is now made of matt acrylic - just as silky, just as expressive, but much more durable.
