Pendant light '1965'

The 1965 pendant luminaire was originally designed by Paavo Tynell in 1947. Like many of his most famous designs, the pendant was intended for the Finland House in New York - one of the most ambitious and successful projects ever to present Finnish design.

Tynell perfected the techniques of metal surfaces and developed the 1965 pendant with his extraordinary ability to capture a grace and exuberant lightness and translate it into his brass creations.

Characteristic of the 1965 pendant is the triangular perforation pattern. An artistic detail used by Tynell in several of his light objects. The pendant reflects the outstanding craftsmanship of the Finnish designer.

With a diffuser of frosted glass that attenuates the light, the pendant luminaire contributes to a subtle and serene environment.
