Some things just take time. The Glass Carafe by Aldo Bakker has been lying dormant in his prototype archive since 2000 and is now finally here. It was worth the wait.
The carafe lives from its contrast: a broad, round belly that tapers towards the top to form an incredibly slender neck. Soft, organic, almost delicate in its shape. And then there's the drinking glass - exactly the same silhouette, only mirrored. It fits perfectly as a lid on the carafe, as if the two were made for each other. And they are.
