Teppich Braid 2 aus recyceltem Polyester - Quickship

It may come as a surprise to some that the Braid 2 rug—with its subtle organic irregularities reminiscent of natural surfaces—is made from recycled polyester. Designed by Karin An Rijlaarsdam, the rug is inspired by braiding techniques, craftsmanship, and the landscapes of Gran-Bassam in Ivory Coast, where she lives.

Her focus is on creating sustainable designs that have a positive impact on the environment. It is the first design in Kvadrat’s rug collection to incorporate recycled polyester.

'Braid' is made from braided ropes—one thick and one thin. The thinner rope is sewn onto the thick ropes in a slightly wavy pattern, giving the design a beautiful irregularity.

Thanks to the sewing technique used in the production of “Braid,” there is virtually no production waste.
