Eilersen cannot take full credit for the Butterfly sofa. It was conceived and designed by Japanese designer Yuzuru Nishiyama in collaboration with Jens Juul Eilersen. The idea behind Butterfly was to design a sofa that creates a balance between formal and informal.
The cushions set the tone for the Butterfly sofa. They are large and comfortable and seem to hug the frame as the armrest cushions lean over the side. A beautiful detail is the visible stitching throughout, which makes the sofa a real designer piece.
Butterfly is designed around a delicate frame with down-filled seat and back cushions and armrests. The sofa is available as a two- and three-seater sofa with an armchair.
With its slim body and slender stainless steel legs, Butterfly is a lightweight sofa that is perfect for smaller living spaces or as a soft accent in a dining room or large kitchen.
