With the Soft Stone Sofa, ClassiCon presents a modular sofa system that uniquely combines architecture and comfort. Designed by Portugal-based designer Gabriel Tan, it combines clean geometry with a surprisingly soft, organic aesthetic—inspired by the staggered stone blocks in Porto’s Parque da Cidade and the sculptural power of Isamu Noguchi’s work.
Eleven asymmetrical modules can be arranged into custom configurations, opening up a wide range of possibilities for reimagining spaces. The deliberately irregular composition follows no symmetrical pattern but rather a fluid, natural logic—making each sofa a distinctive one-of-a-kind piece.

Sculptural form meets uncompromising comfort

Behind the monolithic appearance lies a highly sophisticated upholstery construction that offers exceptional seating comfort: A sturdy frame with classic Nosag springs forms the base, while carefully coordinated layers of various foams provide support and a gentle sink. An elaborately quilted cushion made of certified down and fine hollow-profile fibers gives the sofa its characteristic softness and inviting volume. The upholstery deliberately accentuates this effect: a delicate drape softens the sofa’s clean lines and lends it a casual elegance.
In close collaboration with the designer and Zimmer + Rohde, ClassiCon has selected a carefully curated range of upholstery fabrics. The Z+R fabric collection spans a spectrum from softly textured bouclés to delicately shimmering chenilles and natural, durable weaves.
