I'm pretty sure I've already met the beautiful 'Nelson Bench' somewhere in a museum. Unfortunately I just can't remember where that was. But I am sure that I sat on it. Although it seems rather rigid in form, I find it very inviting.
Made of natural coloured and black ash wood, the furniture with its straightforward, clear design illustrates the architectural background of the designer George Nelson. Due to its clever dimensions, the bench can also be used as a wonderful storage table. And it doesn't matter whether it is used in the spacious gallery of the art museum or in a cosy living room.
In my home, by the way, the bench is in the bathroom, where it holds a stack of towels and a box with my small collection of bath salts. But the 'Nelson Bench' also looks really good in my library with blanket, scented candle and magazines.
