Pendant light VP Globe by Verner Panton

The architect and designer Verner Panton was an inspiring and colourful personality. A unique person with a special sense for colours, shapes, light function and space. Throughout his career Verner Panton introduced a number of modern lamps with personalities that were different from all his Scandinavian contemporaries. With a remarkable belief in the unlimited possibilities of form, he successfully worked to develop a new set of theories about how light should function and how it should affect its surroundings.

Starting today you can find his pendant VP Globe with me. A fascinating work of light that reminds me of physics lessons at first.

Produced in two sizes, the 'VP Globe' has a spherical shade made of acrylic glass with a system of metal reflectors in the centre to distribute the light. The reflectors, of various shapes, are partly chrome-plated, partly white and partly coloured (red and blue).
