The Tropico light fixture reminds me of a big eye looking kindly into my apartment from the wall. Don't you think so?
'Tropico' consists of a spherical cap made of opal glass, which is flattened and held by a large mirrored metal boss.
The 'shape of light' is the central theme of this project by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti, which began with the Equatore family of lamps presented in 2017 and now extended to include other versions, and continues with the new 'Tropico'.
Shapes in glass and metal that collect, enclose and diffuse the light in space. Between opaline, coloured and transparent layers, accentuated by the refined curves and magic of the hand-blown glass, the light is free to create surprising and fascinating effects, patterns and moods.
