"Arflex" is the success story of a group of Pirelli engineers who set out in Milan in 1947 with a revolutionary idea: furniture made of foam rubber and elastic straps instead of rigid steel springs. To this day, the name “Ar-flex” stands for this flexibility—and for the birth of an icon, when Marco Zanuso’s “Lady” armchair won the gold medal at the Milan Triennale in 1951. Since then, the brand has combined Italian craftsmanship with uncompromising innovation and has collaborated with big names such as Franco Albini, Cini Boeri, and Claesson Koivisto Rune—many of its designs are now part of museum collections such as MoMA’s. Whether sofas, armchairs, tables, or beds: every piece “made in Italy” combines comfort, aesthetics, and timeless design.
