Almost more object than utilitarian is the Mate table, designed by Sebastian Herkner for 'Wendelbo'.
The table exudes the values of sophistication and simplicity at the same time through its geometric design language and elegant materiality. The tray seems to float on the sculptural base, which I particularly like.
The idea behind 'Mate': The table should become a companion in the daily life of its users*. Thus Herkner also named his design 'Mate' ('buddy').
A filigree piece of furniture that is both friend and furniture.
