Launched in 1938 and relaunched by &Tradition in 2018, the 'Petra Lounge Chair VB3' was first introduced at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition and marked the beginning of its journey into the world of design.
Boesen's original creation gained recognition at exhibitions in New York and Berlin and epitomized the Danish design aesthetic of the 1930s.
In a dusty cigar box in Boesen's archive, &Tradition rediscovered the original design of the Petra Lounge Chair VB3, which had remained untouched for around 80 years. The new Petra lounge chair continues the proportions of this historic Danish piece and continues the original story.
Named after Boesen's mother-in-law, Petra, the armchair reflects her bold personality in its embracing design.
The new Petra armchair has the same character and aesthetic on a larger scale and is suitable for a variety of spaces, from homes to hotel lobbies.
