A good night's sleep is so incredibly important. When designing your bedroom, pay attention to high-quality furniture with a focus on the essentials and a calm allure - a simple, beautiful bed, a modular wardrobe, a cool wardrobe and a purist bedside table. Add personal touches, color and expressive, artistic accessories with an object character to your bedroom.
A bed is a bed, is a bed. At least in this case.
This one was designed by Hans Gugelot and realized in 1954 in collaboration with Max Bill as part of his teaching assignment with students at the Ulm School of Design. Simple and timeless, without wanting to be more than a bed.
The minimalist appearance is characterized above all by the black lacquered, powder-coated aluminium, which can be complemented by an equally simple slatted frame.
Freed from the headboard and footboard, the bed could suddenly be positioned freely in the room - an absolute novelty at the time. It had moved from its protected position against the wall into the open space. There, the liberated magical place for dreaming and making love now opened up.
The 'Gugelot' bed has remained unchanged over the years and the classic is still available in the usual sizes today.
