Danish Design: Armchair Jørna

This armchair is called Jørna and was designed by Poul M. Volther in 1952. It was her favourite armchair in the family living room, and Volther wanted it to be a comfortable, upholstered chair where she could relax while knitting.

The simple three-piece construction therefore makes 'Jørna' a spacious armchair with a light look that fits perfectly in most homes, whether as a fixed armchair in the living room or a lounge chair in a cosy corner.

No matter how wildly you wave your arms in here, this Danish design classic offers enough space for knitting, for the laptop or the newspaper.

When it comes to the upholstery, you can choose your favourite from various versions. Especially worth mentioning is the classic checkered horse blanket fabric, which has been revived by 'FDB Møbler'. The fabric is made of 100% combed wool and is incredibly durable.
