This chair was originally designed by the Danish designer Finn Juhl for a carpenter in 1946 - hence the name. In 1953 Juhl modified the chair into a simpler, more aerodynamic version. It is this later version that is now in production again.
In this version Finn Juhl clearly tried to emphasize the lightness of the chair by separating the supported and the supporting element. Thanks to modern technology the new version is produced in outstanding quality with stronger joints than the original from 1946.
The '46 Armchair' is made of oak or walnut and upholstered with fabric in various colours. The armchair is perfect as a meaningful individual piece and as such knows how to tell a lot of history.
