Sia Outdoor Rug by Kvadrat

The rugs are designed for use in a wide variety of outdoor areas and are highly resistant to moisture, sunlight, mold, and saltwater and pool water. Made from synthetic fibers, the rugs are water-repellent, tear-resistant, and quick-drying. Thanks to these durable and low-maintenance properties, they are also suitable for indoor use. The polypropylene is solution-dyed, which reduces the amount of water, dyes, and energy required during production. Additionally, no additional chemicals are needed to enhance performance, while high colorfastness is guaranteed.

Inspired by designer Margrethe Odgaard’s childhood memories of the textured look of sisal rugs, the Sia Outdoor rug combines simple yet sophisticated details of traditional rug-making. The multicolored surface, which appears monochromatic, is complemented by horizontal seams that create a subtle, shaded striped pattern.

The surface consists of braided cords that are joined together using a special sewing technique, resulting in a smooth, even surface. This technique increases the rug’s durability while keeping it lightweight. Sia Outdoor is suitable for medium to heavy use both indoors and outdoors and can be ordered in round, oval, or irregular shapes.
