Light object Akari UF3-Q

❤️ YOUR GIFT ❤️ Vitra Toolbox with a Vitra purchase >500 CHF

In Japan, paper lamps and lanterns have a very long history. They come in an almost endless variety of different aesthetics.

In the 50's the American-Japanese artist and versatile designer Isamu Noguchi was occupied with this theme, and as a result he designed the lamps 'Akari Light Sculptures'. A total of over 100 hand-made models made of the highest quality Shoji paper, as table, floor or ceiling lamps. He chose the word 'akari', the Japanese expression for 'brightness' and 'light', which also means lightness. For him, paper transforms cool electricity back into warm sunlight.

He's right, I find and switch on my new paper light source, which is so light-footed on my sideboard, and I'm happy that the sun still shines a little further at home even after sunset.

A cult object and really beautiful light source at the same time, which shows the true connoisseur.
