The 597 model by Gianfranco Frattini is the lamp that started it all. First released in 1961, it catapulted Frattini into the world of lighting design with a shape that remains unique to this day. The playful nylon fringes were inspired by the world of fashion and the typical fringed curtains that were ubiquitous in Italy's bars and grocery stores in the late 1950s. A nod to everyday life, transformed into a design object.

The side-mounted light sources create a 360° interplay of indirect light, which is gently refracted by the fringes and creates a warm, atmospheric glow in the room. The reflective aluminum shade intensifies the upward light and lends additional warmth. Model 597 is light-hearted in expression but serious in function - sophistication, character and a touch of humor, without any superfluous decoration.
