With capable hands, 'Ton' manually bends furniture in a place where this technology has been used since the year 1861. In addition, 'Ton' continues to develop the unique properties of this technology and combines them with the contemporary ideas of designers. The tables and chairs of the label, based in Bystřice pod Hostýnem in the Czech Republic, combine quality with innovative design language and are a legacy of the place that has learned to understand wood over generations.
Brand new from today you can find in my shop seating collection 822, developed in collaboration with Swedish studio Claesson Koivisto Rune. It is inspired by Josef Hoffmann's design of the modernist A811 model from 1930, with the Swedish designers extending the model towards contemporary Scandinavian minimalism.
They have created a stand-alone version whose proportions better match the natural shapes created by the manual wood-bending technique. The graphic dot perforations in the seat and backrest made of plywood give the unique character.
These design principles are also reflected in the wooden chair, which is available in a variety of pretty colors.
