Double shell chair ga

When two become one, the Mooris are happy like a little school bueb.

Today I will show you another classic from the oldest table and chair manufactory in Switzerland: the 'ga chair' by 'Horgenglarus'. It was designed by the architect and designer Hans Bellmann in 1955.

For his design, the architect experimented with moulded plywood and explored the two-dimensionality of seat shells. Bellmann used a wider shell, divided it in the middle, and then reassembled the two parts, not exactly parallel, but slightly offset. The result can still be seen even more than 60 years after its birth and lends every interior an incredible dynamism.
