March 8 is an important day that is historically dedicated to women. It is an invitation to focus on women's rights and to stand up for equal rights worldwide. In the world of interior design, too, men are unfortunately still often in the majority - and are publicly rewarded more. We would therefore like to use this day to put the spotlight on talented women and many great feminine designs.

Our absolute favorite designs? Female! Because in terms of design, women are in no way inferior to their male colleagues. On the contrary.
They not only achieve great things with talent and an iron will, but also enchant the world even more with their designs, which bring empathy and love.

Fazit: feminines Möbeldesign ist anders
Auch wenn wir uns auf diese zwei schillernden und für uns sehr wichtigen Frauen im Beitrag konzentriert haben, es gibt so unglaublich viele, die an dieser Stelle erwähnt werden sollten. Viele riesengrosse Talente bleiben verborgen, weil einfach die Umstände ihnen keinen Erfolg beschert.
Nichtsdestotrotz, dank meiner Arbeit und aus persönlichem Interesse sind mir die Kreationen von Designgrössen Hella Jongerius, Charlotte Perriand, Ray Eames, Patricia Urquiola, Florence Knoll und Gae Aulenti allgegenwärtig. Aber auch Newcomer wie Ana Kraš und viele mehr!
Klare Linien, funktionale Designs sowie ein emotionaler und innovativer Ansatz mit ganz viel Herz und Mut machen aus femininen Designs Kultklassiker.
Feminines Möbeldesign ist in seinen Feinheiten einfach etwas anders. Und bringt noch ein kleines bisschen mehr Emotion und Vielschichtigkeit in die Gestaltung eines Möbelstück hinein, als dass die maskulinen Designs dies zu tun vermögen.

Last but not least: be sure to watch the more recent film Eileen Gray and the House by the Sea. An incredibly powerful work by Swiss filmmakers Beatrice Ming and Christoph Schaub, which explores and illustrates the life of the Irish designer, her refuge on the Côte d'Azur, her strong character and meticulous work as well as her quarrels with Le Corbusier.
